How to Prepare Heirs for What’s Coming

STEVE NOVAK

Sponsored by Pepkin & Associates

This presentation will address the need for a comprehensive educational strategy for those that will receive significant inheritances.  The strategy must go beyond programs, tests and curriculum, to provide prospective heirs with wisdom and knowledge through experience and mentorship.  This strategy is essential to the success of not only the beneficiary, but is also the foundation upon which future generations of beneficiaries will build.  The presentation will cover ideas and examples for the various facets of this educational strategy. STEVEN W. NOVAK, J.D. is the managing partner of the Dallas office of The Blum Firm, P.C., a Fort Worth based law firm started in 1980 by Marvin Blum.  The firm, comprised of twenty attorneys, specializes in the areas of estate planning and probate, asset protection, and business and tax planning. He is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Estate Planning and Probate Law. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Kansas and his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law. He is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics in estate and business planning and was named a “Texas Rising Star” by Texas Monthly and Law and Politics Magazine every year from 2006 to 2013, one of D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas from 2014 - 2016, and a Thomson Reuters Super Lawyer in 2014 and 2015.
