Gary Garcia stepped into his role as director of external relations in January 2010. He leads The Foundation’s development efforts, working with professional advisors, potential donors, and others to cultivate planned and outright gifts. Gary obtained his Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) designation in 2011 from The American College.  Gary works in concert with professional advisors to serve as a resource and a sounding board to help clients pursue their vision of a better world. He states, “I really enjoy working with donors. It’s a joy and an honor to learn their story and help them implement their philanthropic vision.” From 2001 to 2010, Mr. Garcia served as controller for The Dallas Foundation. He has an undergraduate degree in accounting and worked for the state of Texas and PriceWaterhouseCoopers before joining the nonprofit sector. Rod Riggins joined The Dallas Foundation in October, 2015 in a new position – educating and assisting advisors with how they help their clients achieve charitable goals.  Rod moved from the wealth management industry, where he worked with advisors and wealthy families for more than 25 years.
