LINCOLN, CHURCHILL AND THE POWER OF WORDS

TALMAGE BOSTON

Sponsored by Frost Bank and Leu & Peirce

The program provides the specifics of what traits made Lincoln and Churchill the most effective and eloquent communicators of their eras, with complete application to having the highest level of communication skills today.  It has special application to those who are constantly required to write and speak with precision and power. It focuses on the essential requirements of credibility and transparency in having persuasion capability, as well as what is required to make presentations highly memorable.  Talmage Boston has been an active business litigator in Dallas for the last 43 years, and has been a partner in the Dallas office of Shackelford, Bowen, McKinley & Norton, LLP for the last four years, specializing in commercial litigation. Past Chair of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas and the Business Litigation Section of the Dallas Bar Association. Board Certified and recertified in Civil Trial Law (since 1988) and Civil Appellate Law (since 1990) by Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Selected “Texas Super Lawyer” every year since 2003, and “Best Lawyers in America” every year since 2013. Author of four history books (that can all be found on amazon) —two on baseball history, one on legal history, and one on presidential history—with the forewords to them written by bestselling novelist John Grisham, leading sportswriter Frank Deford, former US Attorney General Dick Thornburgh, and documentary filmmaker Ken Burns.

There are no continuing education credits for this meeting. The handout will be available on the website under the document library a few days prior to the presentation.
