This program will review economic and financial events of the past and define trends for the future.  These trends including productivity, inflation, globalization, household worth and education will be explored in detail both from a historic and quantitative perspective.  Significant comparative analysis and the impact of these trends on the local area, Texas, the United States and throughout the globe will be presented.  The audience will gain a broad understanding which will help them work with clients in their estate planning and charitable planning needs.  Additionally, the audience will learn specific direction for interest rates, money flows and trade data which can assist in developing appropriate solutions in the areas of will and trust drafting; preparation of Grantor Retained Trusts, Charitable Remainder and Lead Trusts, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts; selection of insurance and investment strategies.  The understanding of economic trends now and into the future will generate great benefits for practitioners and their clients.  William H. (Bill) Wallace is an Adjunct Professor of Economics at the University of North Texas, where he has worked since 2001. Before that, he taught banking and financial markets in Russia under a Eurasia Foundation Grant as well as banking in Israel under sponsorship of Israel College in Tel Aviv. Mr. Wallace served as the Dean of the College of Business and Public Administration at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia from 1991 to 1995. Before starting his academic career, Mr. Wallace worked in the Federal Reserve System from 1967 to 1991, first as Vice President & Research Economist, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond , then as Staff Director of the Federal Reserve Board, Washington, and finally as Chief Operating Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas . He has also served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Duke University, a Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois, and a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army Finance Corps.
